MY JOURNEY TO BANDUNG  INDONESIA

 

Looking back on my life-changing experience traveling to Bandung, Indonesia as an exchange student or intern with the SEAMEO SEA Teacher Exchange Student Program, I can say that I am incredibly appreciative of the major impact that this program has had on both my academic and personal development. This trip proved to be more than simply a vacation for me as a future teacher; it has taught me a great deal about cultural exchange, teaching, and the value of incorporating diverse perspectives in the educational setting. I was entangled in an abundance of Indonesian traditions and beliefs as soon as I stepped into Bandung, along with a friendly, warm local society that accepted me as a valued member of their own. The UPI gymnasium was a source of inspiration for me. There, I experienced firsthand the remarkable creativity and endurance exhibited by both teachers and children. along with learning about innovative methods of instruction. I will take an abundance of information with me throughout my career from the ideas and teaching approaches that I have exchanged with other educators. I never would have thought that seeing Bandung's amazing night views and bustling night markets would extend my horizons to such a great extent. It's an environment wherein the past and the future live in harmony, and that contrast has impacted me.

The experience has strengthened the value of my education degree program. It has demonstrated to me that real learning happens outside of textbooks and classrooms. It's about accepting diversity, learning to appreciate and tolerate other cultures, and adjusting to unfamiliar surroundings. These are the fundamental abilities that all aspiring teachers ought to have, and I am grateful to have acquired them via this experience. I leave Indonesia with memories that will influence my pedagogy and manner of instruction as well as a profound understanding of the value of cross-cultural dialogue and global consciousness. This trip has been unforgettable and has strengthened my resolve to work toward achieving my educator dream which is motivated by boundaries rather than constrained by them.
